Assistant Treasurer's Position
The Band Boosters are currently seeking nominees to fill the office of Assistant Treasurer until the May elections. Any member interested in the position should attend the February meeting when the office is expected to be filled. As a reminder you must be a current, paid member to vote and be elected to the position.

Welcome to the South Point High School Band Web site. South Point High School is located in South Point, Ohio, the most southern point in the state. South Point High School has a student population of approximately 500 students with about 65 students involved in the band program. The Drum Major of the 2006 - 2007 Band of Gold is Kayla Smith.
The band is active throughout the year. In the fall, South Point's Marching Band, the Band of Gold, performs at all 10 football games and in various parades. They also compete in about 5 competitions each year. The band has won numerous awards and had several superior ratings. The South Point Marching Band has gone to the OMEA State Marching Band Finals in 1988, 1990, 1994, 1995, 1998, & 1999. It also had the privilege to perform at Walt Disney World in Florida in 2000.
Each May, the band also makes an annual appearance in the oldest, continuous-running Memorial Day parade in the nation, the Ironton Memorial Day Parade.Every year after the marching season ends, the band switches to concert band mode. The South Point Band presents an annual Christmas Concert each year in December. During the 2nd Semester Concert Band class, band members are represented well in many honor groups, such as All-County & All-District Band. Many members also choose to participate in the OMEA District 17 Solo & Ensemble Contest, as well as the SCORES contest at Marshall University. They also present an annual Spring Concert each May. Also during the winter, the pep band performs at all of the home boys basketball games.
